A competitive word game available on the App Store.
It all started in September 2024 when I was inspired to create a game like tic-tac-toe but opposite. Instead of creating a line of 3, the goal would be that if you created a line of 3 then you lose!
I started playing with pieces of paper with the letters P, I, G, placing them on a board and brainstorming how to make it a 2-player game. It continued to develop as I tested wtih coworkers, friends, family and students.
The game was a hit so I decided to branch out. I bought a laser engraver, designed a board and tiles and began makign and selling sets of the game: Don't Spell PIG.
I marketed on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Etsy. Game sets were selling like crazy but not crazy enough.
In May 2025, I was talking with a friend who knows a guy that built a successful Solitaire app, he suggested I get in touch with him to digitize my game.
Its a good game and an app could expand my reach and make it more accesible. I was intrigued so started researching how to make an app.
I was way in over my head, I knew nothing about coding or app development, but I was determined to learn.
With alot of help from AI and many nights working until 2am, I finally finished!
Don't Spell PIG became available on the App Store in June 2025 and continues to grow in popularity.
